Topic eBay prices - are these bets for real?

I have just received an email from eBay saying that I was outbid for an iPhone 2G, 16GB.

The selling price was $1,324!

The question is: how real are some of these eBay bets. I have seen Apple desktops with bets equal with the Apple store prices and CPUs with higher prices than those on Newegg.

Are these bets for real?
